There are those few precious moments in life,
which are gone forever,
unless you have a camera...
And, my photographic equipment is Nikon.

No big sales pitch.

No name dropping.

Just the tools for saving memories.

And now, if you'll indulge me for a few moments,
I'd like to share just a few of my memories with you.

But before we get into that stuff, I just have to stand on a soapbox!

It has to do with the recent craze of digitally altering an image. I am amazed that for the past couple of years every time I open a photography magazine I see all these "wonderful" photographs. Some are crap, some are decent, and some are really even quite good! HOWEVER ... attached to each picture is a caption describing the technical aspects of the photograph.

I am totally amazed at the number of pictures posted in international magazines where the "photographer" did NOT know what type of film he/she was using (if it was on film), he/she did NOT know what the aperture setting was, he/she did NOT know what the shutter speed was, and each and every one of them were "enhanced" with some version of Photoshop!

None of the pictures presented on any of my pages have been digitally enhanced, corrected, modified, or manipulated in any way, shape or form! They are exactly as I saw them when I framed them in my mind, in my camera and when they returned from the processor!

All pictures were scanned using single-pass, 8-bit, JPG specifications (with 80% to 90% compression). This effects the quality of the scanned picture, but in reality, they are "good enough" for a web page.

Doesn't it just figure!
Thumbnails WITH a border DO NOT yet have a large picture associated.
Why? Because I can't find the damn negatives or slides!!
(Some were sold and I no longer have the rights to them.)

And now ...
I'd like to share a few of my memories with you.
